“Adam is West Indian Girl’s number one soundman. He’s got great ears and perfect pitch.”

Whether mixing eclectic artists in the heart of Hollywood at the Hotel Cafe and Nico Vega at the LA Detour Fest or tour managing/ F.O.H. for Crash Kings, Adam Labov is not your typical sound engineer. He’s not one to “set it and forget it”. Adam’s approach to live sound begins with the understanding that the mixing console is his instrument, and his way of contributing to a performance. His priority is properly interpreting the musicians’ sound, and relaying that message to the audience. This requires feeling the music and making adjustments as necessary, focusing on getting great tone & balance and adding tasteful effects.

You can find Adam not only mixing, but booking some of his favorite bands here in Los Angeles, including West Indian Girl, Travis Warren with Christopher Thorn and Rogers Stevens of Blind Melon, Trevor Hall, Until June and Chris Shinn of Unified Theory.

Adam is currently a live sound engineer and consultant for the Stronghold in Venice… where he has the pleasure of mixing monthly residencies of Tom Freund and Keaton Simons, as well as Jackson Browne, Willy Chambers and countless others. This month he launches two exclusive nights of his own @ The Stronghold:

“Painting with the modesty of a dervish and the excitement of a poet, Carlito Dalceggio, who paints the world of sound with color.”
– Mercan Dede

Artist Statement

By the act of painting, I transcend my human state. I search for other ways. I seek for a universal pattern, the ultimate strokes of freedom. I reach a visionary state and totally leave reality to give shape to another world.

I breathe to paint, I paint to breathe.

Art does not try to reproduce nature, art is nature.

Every painting is a key, a window to the inner world:

To live a mystic life in the modern world

Eroticism, freedom, seeking for new ways

I paint an imaginary mythology, in a constant research of new forms, new techniques and new medias.

From the ancient calligraphy, seeking for a new iconography, an alchemic and modern wedding of sacred iconography with vernacular symbols of consumerism, giving new senses to archetypes. It is the deconstruction of the known world to rebuild a free world. Art = Science and intuition.

Art is a multi-media existence laboratory; the exchange and collaborations between artists of different medias push the limits and create a new language. Technology becomes a tool for the concretization of the vision. I always want to gather strong opposite creative souls from different cultures together (Secret Silk Society: a creative laboratory of research to bring back mysticism into modern life).

Tribal art, street art, guerilla art influenced, and propaganda, spreading the vision out of the gallery walls: posters, walls, films, happenings… My art is a bridge to the consciousness of humanity, where communication is vital, open. A channel. My art is an imaginary propaganda for an unknown kingdom, a parallel universe outside reality.

With my extensive painting travels and live performances, I provoke the encounter with the viewer at the moment of creation, transforming the ritual of creation. Painting is a liberating act for the artist and also for the viewer. Transforming the vision into reality should be a tactile and emotional experience for the viewer. A sensual relation with the medium, an emotion.

I paint Labyrinths of dreams and visions. I rewrite myths and legends. I capture their essence to transmit an invisible but tactile knowledge. I am a Descendant of the Avant-garde and cobra movements: art without limits, everywhere at every moment. Expression of the irrational. A fragile balance between excess and purity: art as a way of life, constant ritual. Only in chaos can really exist freedom.

I paint the images we should dream of at night: before we were contaminated by modern life. My Art is a pure intuitive and spontaneous way of expression.

The desire to paint all objects of the daily life is to bring art to a higher level, in a constant interaction with our daily life; to bring beauty at all moments, to uplift the human existence.

SECRET ALPHABET

We need to write things we do not understand – symbols from ancient civilization – feeling our brushes free and unconscious – without any intention to transmit a clear message to anyone – just sounds made of letters – for a few moments we can become bigger than ourselves – I want to paint uncompleted circles, not giving all the answers – not filling all the blanks – not everything down here needs a definitive sense – linearity is not a solution to everything – we love to walk in uncertain fields – assemble symbols instantly – create new words – we do not have to carry all the past – all inventions – all discoveries – we can discover rules of our own world – we do not have to live in the same time than everyone – we are much more free than what we think. Knowledge is always in movement like water in rivers – we can’t reproduce patterns – universe is not a static playground – universe is not scared to be transformed – and we are not afraid to be changed.

NOMADS ON WHEELS™

The Infinite Seashell Riders of Bakuza inc

We are not placed in time – we have always been moving – without a starting point -

With no real end – just eternal tidal waves of light – a transmission of movement – We never have walked on a tight rope – in a straight line – we never had a physical destination -

We never have believed in a promise land – since forever – we just have been hunting for freedom – beauty and eternity – little euphoria

We have always been fighting more for a state of mind than a land

We have been hunting for reptiles and freedom – sunsets and silence -

We have been carrying trough all deserts, all cities and all highways all our visions – timeless prophecies -

We have provided to planet Earth a rotation system – a constant wind -

a never repeating mantra – we gave a direction to chaos

We have filled the silence with whispers – we have learned how to disappear -

daily levitation

We have created a mystic land between reality and dreamland where it is possible to exist without compromise

We have transformed our souls into vast playgrounds – we have transformed all highways into carrousels

We never have let them get us down – we never have let them kill our dreams

We have opened all doors – we have traced on the floor giant white circles

We have transformed all cars into snakes of light

We have always shared our truth but we never have been prophets

We have always been carried by the wind – to find love or infinity

We have always been the seeds of chaos – the instant birth of automatic ceremonies

Our life is a procession – we are the nomads on wheels

We will never stop – our land is a road

Our body is our own temple

To capture infinity without gloves

To exist without a safety net

To feel wind with skin

To love without fears

The formula of the movement is to never stop.

Jeanine’s first and only piano teacher put it best when she said: “My other students will always be good, but Jeanine~ she has the music in her!” Jeanine could not avoid the music; it followed her wherever she went. She formed her first all-girl band CLOVER at the age of 19, which consisted of five girls who harmonized over two acoustic guitars. The experience only added to Jeanine’s ambition to tour the world as a famous singer. During college, Jeanine was fortunate to meet her producer & partner Mike Corvington (aka DJ Leviathan). Together they make a powerful team with Mike writing and producing all of the music and Jeanine writing all the lyrics and melodies. The duo create the unique sound that is Jeanine Strong’s signature style: Urban Melodic Soul.

Soy’-ka Designs

Natalie Sojka found her first elements of inspiration for this line at an antique shop in rural Pennsylvania. After seeing the unique blend of metal shapes and textures she was inspired to produce her current line of jewelry. Her goal with this line is to give her clients something unique, sexy, authentic, and edgy to wear, as well as a conversation starter. All pieces are handmade, one of a kind, and made from all recycled materials.

Sojka Photography

Born in Buffalo, NY, Natalie began taking photos at 13, sensing a unique presence with everything around her while shooting. She graduated with a BFA in Photography and a minor in Graphic Design and Communication from Rochester Institute of Technology.

Natalie re-located to Los Angeles in 2003 and soon after, began working for Startraks Photo and clients such as Disney, Epic Records, Warner Bros. Records, ABC, MTV, and L’Oreal as well as shooting several celebrity portraits.

Natalie Sojka (pronounced soy-‘ka) has shot for Alternative Press, Rolling Stone, Maverick Records and Esquire Magazine. Her clients include YMI Jeans, Yamaha, The High Window, Red Bull, Inked Magazine, The Big Takeover, J-14, and Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia.

Through photography, Natalie Sojka’s vision is to open up the minds of society while continuing to open her own by taking a situation people may look at in one way, and giving it a whole new perspective. She is most inspired when connecting with her subjects and capturing their true essence. Her passion lies in photographing bands, fashion, and portraiture.

Sojka Photography with Visionary Media House seek to create “conscious imaging”. They are looking to work with people, companies, musicians, causes, etc. that are out to make a difference in the world. As a result of working with people that are like-minded, loving, and fun, inspiration and magic are always created from start to finish with each shoot. Natalie is currently focused on shooting portraits for magazines and building her fashion and beauty portfolios… as well as shooting look books for designers, bands, and special events.

The latest album, entitled Closure, weaves the listener through the nuances of a relationship gone awry. That being said, it’s not your typical sappy break up record. For the most part, the tone and tempo of the songs gleam with hope and the projection of moving forward. Anduze’s sultry voice resonates with a sympathetic confidence that leaves a unique impression. Using beautifully crafted lyrics, each song tells a story that reels us in for an up close and personal look at the artist…and at times ourselves. The subject matter is relatable, like a conversation with someone where you find yourself not speaking because you agree with every word.

Finding “closure” is not easy, we all know that. But as he searches for his, Anduze also manages to inspire us to look for ours in whatever capacity we may need it…proof that music truly can be life changing when it comes from the soul.

Mr. Important has launched Vanity, a sizzling new nightclub at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas.

The entrance transports guests into an eclectic jewel box adorned with pearls, hand cut crystals and reflective walls of bronze fused with metallic gold.

The heartbeat of the club is a spectacular cyclone chandelier lit from within by more than 20,000 LED lights that truly bring the dance floor to life.

The 14,000 square-foot venue features two marble bars, 50 intimate VIP booths, an outdoor terrace with cabanas, fire pit, and offers direct access to the new outdoor Sky Bar opening April 2010. For those who are just a bit more vain, the ladies lounge is complete with nail and makeup technicians available for touch ups and all bathrooms are equipped with full-length three-way mirrors, naturally.

VIP seating lines the 80-foot sunken dance floor, while a larger center seating area borders an onyx catwalk lined with tall lanterns. Staff in rocker-style uniforms offer champagne menus engraved on handheld antique mirrors.

Recording studio in Nashville retreat in Gallatin, Tennessee. Impressive technical craftsmanship. The studio is an acoustic marvel: layered in soundproof materials, hundreds of bass traps, sand-filled concrete walls, and floating floors. Every surface has been scrutinized. Material costs outweigh the asking price. Turnkey maintenance and customization terms. 629 Neals Lane is a rare investment opportunity.

Looking at the studio, a professional team of four to six works well in 5,000 square feet. An entourage-capacity control room holds over 20. Outside, the insulated shop heats enough room for a tour-bus, merchandise, office and rehearsal area.

The home boasts brick and oversized frame construction. Interior comforts include an open kitchen, three bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms — all pristine. Home, shop and studio rest on five acres with pond and pastures.

Area amenities: Nashville International Airport, Long Hollow Golf Course, Gallatin Country Club, Bluegrass Golf and Country Club, and Old Hickory Lake.

The VertiGirls were founded by Emilee Wilson in 2009. She hand picked each performer after witnessing the amazing amount of strength and grace they exuded during pole performances. The VertiGirls have been featured in Pole2Pole Magazine, and they’ve played at such legendary venues as the Hollywood House of Blues (the first time in that venue’s history that pole performers headlined on the main stage), the Key Club, the Aqua Lounge in Beverly Hills, Gallery 1018, the Upper Manhattan Lounge, and in January 2010 they’ll be starting a residency at King King on Hollywood Blvd. every third Thursday of the month. The VertiGirls are proudly endorsed by Bad Kitty, Xpole, and Mighty Grip. They wear signature feather masks which add mystery and magic to each show and they provide jaw-dropping entertainment with synchronized pole tricks, duet dances, and choreographed routines (including hoop, trapeze, and fire dancing). Several of the VertiGirls are title-holders in professional U.S. and California pole competitions.
