Identity: Gulf Coast Spill Coalition

No Comments 13 May 2010

-

The Codega Group was approached to craft an identity for the Gulf Coast Spill Coalition, an innovative social media-powered website to collect and share spill data.

Gulfcoastspill.com’s main function is to collect images, videos and reports from people impacted by the spill and to make them available to the public. For example, people can upload images of oil on beaches, injured wildlife, volunteer activities and much, much more. The goal of the project is to speed recovery by crowd sourcing information and making this information readily available to recovery teams. Gulfcoastspill.com’s technology is open sourced and the data is available to anyone interested.

Take a look at the brand new site: gulfcoastspill.com

Also see ifitwasmyhome.com for an actual-size overlay of the spill onto your town! Yikes.

A Review of The Codega Group

No Comments 19 May 2010

We got a sweet review from Joey Flores over at myownfm.com:

My band has been playing in Los Angeles for about three years. We’ve played Viper Room, The Mint, Temple Bar, Air Conditioned Lounge, and The Derby before it closed down – all great venues. We’ve worked primarily with two really good booking agents and today I want to give a shout out to one of them, Jaclyn Strong of The Codega Group (formerly Can of Jam).

Jaclyn is absolutely dialed into the pulse of the Los Angeles music community. She knows everybody, works with many of the best venues, and is always very professional. She can put your band on the main stage of the House of Blues on Sunset Strip, in the Hard Rock Cafe, Viper Room, The Key Club, The Joint, The Derby, and many more. Further, she always tries to make the acts complimentary and, once you’re proven with her, payment is always fair.

Today, I got an email from The Codega Group showcasing their graphic design services. They provide them for all kinds of products but the fliers and posters they’ve created for some of the Codega-booked shows look fantastic. And, in my opinion, the quality of your artwork and your merchandise is extremely important. A poorly made flier sends the signal that you don’t care about your product, which means you probably don’t care about your music. The fliers designed by Chris Hughes look top-notch and are guaranteed to give people a good impression about your band and your show.

I highly suggest working with Jaclyn for your booking needs and, now, it appears Chris Hughes can make you badass fliers and posters as well. Be sure to reach out to these class acts and let them know we sent you.

Thanks for the kind words! Check out Joey’s 10-piece funk & hip-hop band, The Capitalist Hippie Complex.

East Bluff Trading asked for a ‘vintage ornate’ tin packaging design for their organic Criollo Cacao Nibs. Here’s what we came up with.

Imported from Venezuela, these premium chocolates are a damn fine snack. We’ll have product shots as soon as the tins arrive from the manufacturer.
